History of WMNR Fine Arts Radio

The stations of WMNR Fine Arts Radio are licensed to the Monroe Board of Education. Support for WMNR comes from donations of members and area businesses. Listeners are welcome to join.

Began operation on 88.1 FM as a local non-commercial station Started broadcasting classical music 7 days per week Live broadcasts from Tanglewood started over 88.1FM
1984 1987 1988
Increased power on 88.1FM from 600 watts to 9,000 watts Built 300 foot tower for 88.1 FM to increase coverage Started operating full-time on 90.1 FM in Shelton
1993 1996 1997
Began operating on 91.5 FM in Guilford Full-time operations began on 90.1 FM in South Kent Classical music broadcast 24 hours per day
