Broadway Soundbook, Saturdays 3:30 - 4:00 pM
When Garrett Stack retired his Broadway Bound program in 2025, Fred Albert approached WMNR to ensure its commitment to musical theater lived on—and thus gave birth to The Broadway Songbook. His deep affection for musicals and for show business lore stems from decades spent as a dedicated theatergoer, avid reader and occasional performer, and a long stint working in public relations for two West Coast regional theaters. While Fred has appeared many times as a guest on TV and radio, The Broadway Songbook marks his hosting debut. He relishes the opportunity to share his passion for show tunes—both in their stage incarnations, and as interpreted by pop, jazz, and cabaret artists.
Beyond the microphone, Fred is an award-winning writer and editor, as well as a Yale graduate. He has edited design and lifestyle magazines on both coasts, authored two design books, and written extensively about architecture and interiors for dozens of national and regional publications. He currently serves as Deputy Editor of Architecture and Design for Forbes.
