Dave Rohlfing is an occasional host of WMNR Concert Hall and an on-air fundraiser during WMNR’s pledge drives.

Dave is a lifelong resident of Connecticut, residing in Southbury for the last 41 years. He and his wife, Kate Clarke, are parents of four grown sons and grandparents to a grandson.

He was introduced to WMNR by Kate, who always has the station playing on the kitchen radio. Early favorite programs were Garrett Stack's Echoes of the Past, Karl Haas’s Adventures in Good Music, and Doug Fox's Tuesday opera programs. Kate became a phone volunteer at the station for fundraisers and Dave followed a few years later, the both of them taking listener calls during Evening at the Opera.

One thing led to another and Kate found a classified ad for a board operator that WMNR had placed in the local newspaper. Dave took the hint and eventually was hired by the station in April 2018. He describes it as a definite learning experience, though radio has always been one of his hobbies.

Dave is a life member of the Southbury Volunteer Fire Department, a 40-year volunteer with Boy Scouts of America, and a fan of the Chicago White Sox. He is also a rare item, a left handed mandolin player.
